Hey-
I can't find the part number for the condenser that is fed of the coil connector. I think it for radio noise. The only part that looks similar is a Standard RC-15

I don't know if it matters. The wire on mine is just hanging loose.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies. The Standard RC15 has the same connector but it shows the "does not fit your vehicle" but if you think it doesn't matter, I'll use that one. The OEM is not a good design as that wire is not supported on the top. Should come up from beneath. I'll tell the 1984 designers....

It's a generic part. No worries. It says "does not fit" because Jeep does not specify a suppressor for that location in the parts book, not because it's somehow wrong. You could leave it off, if you don't have any ignition noise in your radio. It does nothing but suppress radio noise. According to the parts book, there is one under the dash that protects your radio, so it's likely the one under the hood suppresses radio noise you're broadcasting to other cars and such.

Thanks tgreese. I'll have a look for the other one. I cleaned up the old part, got some glasses on and found a part number 3229510. That comes up as a Crown part J3229510 which says it's a distributor condenser for the Inline 6. I've got the 360V8 so now not sure if it's the right part anyway. The price is a lot better. About $4.00 from summit racing. The Standard Motor Products RC15 is around $30.
