6" soa with 60's to stock spring?

Post by TheAmishWonder »

I just built up my 79 wagoneer with 6" springs and dana 60s and im not a fan of the height. I'm looking to keep my 38's on it but was going to put the stock springs back in to bring it down. I dont care if i have to cut up the fenders since its already beat up. Anybody have pictures of this setup or know a better way to get this low :-bd.

with 38's and fenders, you may need that much lift. I had problems on my waggy with full width axles and 35's sitting on RS44044 front springs SOA (2" lift).

Now my J10 Honcho is sitting on full width axles, RS44044 springs SOA and 42's No rubbing as I removed 90% of the front fenders and truggied out the rear.

Trying to get some perspective here... So you have spring over axle on the front?

Yes its soa on the front, i believe there 4 or 6" springs from a dodge (pulled them from a local you pull it yard) and the rear are 6" leafs from bj's.

My brother, a buddy and I were discussing using Dodge springs this evening for our SOA.
I was thinking that the springs from the W150 may work.
Were those the springs that you ended up using?

38's will fit with stock springs and an SOA but you will have to cut about 2" of the fenders off. You may be able to get away with 1.25" (cut the flat bit off the flares). So maybe go that far and see if it works.

SOA with lift springs is quite tall. Not sure about trails where you are, but where I am that's a rollover waiting to happen.
