Is this a BJs 2" lift?

Post by merrill77 »

I know this seems like a stupid question...but does a 2" lift actually lift the body 2"? PO told me the 87 GW I bought from him has a 2" BJs lift. However, when I compare the body height to my stock 77, it is just a tad over 4" higher. Both riding on 31s. Could it be a 2" lift along with other modification?

I notice the front springs are below the axles while the rear are above. Is that normal? I've included some of the pics I already have...if you need more, just tell me what to shoot. TIA! Chris

Think those are the original body bushing. Pretty good arc on those front springs and guessing you have a 4 inch suspenion lift.

Spring/Axle configuration is normal. Those look like 4" springs to me also.

If it had a body lift in the 4th picture you would have a spacer between the body and the mount. It sits right on mount with rubber washer. No body lift on this one.

Nope. Those springs look IDENTICAL to the ones on my Cherokee. They are square cut, non-tapered, and ride like I-beams welded to the frame. CRAP. They are NOT BJ's springs. I think they may be Rough Country because they don't look like Rusty's springs either. Image

True, Rusty's and BJ's both use tapered springs. Rough Country has the square cut springs that have a ride that lives up to their name.

@Cheapthrills - What size tires are on yours? That pic is making me think my 87 has a 6" lift on it...as it looks a tad bit higher than yours and I now suspect my 77 has a 1" lift. Thanks, BTW!
