While my jeep was parked outside my friend's shop, some low life decided he needed my stereo more than I did. I could care less about the stereo, but now I have to make a whole new dash panel. Frustrating to say the least. They also broke the latch on the side vent window. I will have to fix that as well.

Wow... They showed no restraint in removing it. That's a huge hole. "Lowlife" is being nice. Sorry to hear about that bud.

Wow, after what seems like forever, I finally have my jeep back. The new Cam and intake are in and she is running strong. The 401 has a nice little lope at idle. I am really happy with the new power and torque. We also cleaned up a lot of the engine bay wiring as well as added an MSD 6AL.

I also was able to get a new dash panel built after my stereo was stolen. I decided not to put the AC vents in the new one. I really did not see that they helped that much. I think it looks cleaner now anyways. The paint does not match, but it will work for now. I took the destroyed dash down to my local sheet metal shop and they were able to cut and bend me a new one that was really close to the original.

I got my jeep back on Friday. Then Saturday me and a buddy headed out to Hidden Falls Off Road Park to test everything out and see how she did. I was very impressed. For running 33" tires, open diffs, a 4" lift, and a quick disconnect sway bar, she did really well.

Here is a pic of me flexing her out before we loaded on the trailer. Flexes pretty good in my opinion. The front has a lot more travel than the rear. One of these days I will look at the rear suspension and see how I can get some more travel out of it. I think at this point my shocks where the limiting factor.

My wife left last week with our boys to go see her parents for Christmas. I am going to drive up there tonight and meet them and have Christmas. It is about a 4 hour drive. So, I am going to drive the Jeep and take my tow bar. Then when we come home I can tow the jeep back with my wife's Excursion. This will be a good test for our trip up to Ouray this year. Anyways, I hate the little mirrors on my jeep. So, I made these mounts and mount bigger mirrors. If I get good feedback on these, I may make a bunch of them and sell them in my Vendor store here on the forum. Needless to say, visibility is much better now. I like the look too.

Getting some good food back on the mirrors. So, those will be next as soon as I finish the sun visor cups.

Drove the Chief up to Longview to meet up with the wife and see the in-laws this weekend. It is about a 200 mile trip from Temple. I had to fill up about half way there. I got an amazing 9.54 MPG out of the old girl. Filled up again when I got to Longview and the second tank got 8.5 MPG. I was pushing it a little harder on the second tank. Thankfully it did not hurt the wallet as bad with fuel prices being so low right now.

Sold the Cheap Chief last night to a really nice guy down in the Austin are. It was time for me to part ways with it so I can focus on my Cummins powered Wagoneer build. I won't be watching this thread anymore, so if anyone ever has any questions feel free to e-mail me or PM.

I did pull the 401 before I sold it and dropped in a solid 360 I had that came out of a Scrambler I bought. So, I am going to put the 401 in the scrambler. I could not part with that motor.

I'll take over from here. I'm glad you decided to part with this Chief. My son has already claimed it so I guess it will stay in my possession for the remainder of its life.
