Relocated battery and finished the intake. Ordered the wrong size band clamps, so went with the trusty hose clamps. And, at long last, the harness and ecm will be here Thursday!
Very nice install you did. Easy answer for me is 1) Texas - engine heat will get me through "winter" here. 2) heater hardly worked due to leaves/dirt dobbers/wasps building nests in everything 3) It all had to come out to be cleaned, and I am not taking the time to reinstall when it never gets used anyways.
ummmm... Colorado and this year are calling! When are you coming up? What area(s) are you gonna wheel? Ouray? Camping? I would love to see another built J-truck around these parts. Let Blake and I know when you are coming up and we will try to meet up with you to do some
Late August? Why not come up for the invasion in mid July and meet a whole mess of FSJ'ers from all over?
Hell you could probably even caravan up there with Green Goat out of Fort Worth in his halftrack at 45mph! LOL
Hey Chris! Hope yall are ok with all the layoffs going on.
Got the harness and ecm yesterday. Wayne at 150tunes.com did a great job with it. Bad thing is, I found my cam position sensor plug had bare wires on 2 of the 3 wires right at the plug, so ill be ordering a new one.

So far so good Brett, I'm with Pioneer Natural Resources and they seem to be doing well so I'm counting my blessings especially since the wifey is on maternity leave

So far so good Brett, I'm with Pioneer Natural Resources and they seem to still be doing well in the Permian so I'm counting my blessings for now, especially since the wifey is on maternity leave
Got the battery relocation completed yesterday, and started installing the harness. Turns out the previous owner of the engine changed out the oil pressure sender with one from another vehicle. It doesn't match up to the harness connector. So had to order a new one. Always catching little snags.
Installed new oil pressure sender. Rebuilt front driveshaft cv and retubed also. Need to install new vss in tailhousing and extend vss wires to reach the back of the tcase. Then on to finish wiring the engine bay, adapt tcase shift linkage, build exhaust, plumb fuel system, build belly skid, install new trans shifter gate plate, install steering wheel to get it finished up.
Wiring is pretty much done! Went to turn the motor over (fuel system not installed yet) and got nothing when I hit start. Key on in run I could hear the dbw throttle blade cycle like it is supposed to, so I knew at least some things were working. I also pushed the throttle and heard the throttle body respond. So I started troubleshooting, thinking it was a ground problem. Turns out the starter is dead. Hotwired straight to the battery and still nothing. So, easy fix I hope. Starter shows up Friday. Wiring wont be cleaned up in harness wrap until I know it runs. Pics of wiring "as-is". lol.
