It's a Summit racing remanufactured quadrajet with electric choke. http://m.summitracing.com/parts/sum-210216

This is my favorite color combo of the Golden Eagles. Black is a close second though.

I think black or green are my favorites, but this darker brown color works well with the scheme too. Official AMC color is called "Sable Brown", right? http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedi ... en%20Eagle

I do think that the patina adds a wonderful extra set of tones and character to the brown, and plan on preserving it as best as I can. Perhaps a clear coat over the paint in its current weathered condition.

Can't wait to head out with you guys next time! I'll bet BigJ200 would be up for joining the Golden Eagle out on its first maiden serious trail voyage.

So, some good news. The Dana 44s look to be in fine shape, transmission is clean, and quadra trac unit is in excellent condition as well. A strong drivetrain! The previous owner did originally bring this Golden Eagle back to life after swapping the drive train in from a local "barn" Cherokee. The previous owner before him blew the transmission and it sat for some time.

That's the plan. No cutting or welding for now.

Well, the driver side floor pan cleaned up nicely..

Image

Passenger side had a few holes.

Naturally the drain troughs were clogged with leaves and such from over the years, so that has all been cleaned out now.

If you're going to use drums to try to save your life, may as well use new ones? At least the front are discs.

It might just be me, but that grey spring don't quite look right. If your stalking your life on you brake you might want to double check that.

What doesn't look right about it? That's what came in the hardware kit. Like I said, at least I've got discs in the front :geek:

It doesn't look hooked in quite right. It should look more like the red one. Hopefully others can chime in.

I never realized I needed something so badly until this picture. He took the universal BJ's harness and added cleaned up stock FSJ connectors?
