I'll keep that in mind. Likely going the narrow track route though. Any idea if they would work for a WT QT axle? I know your Jeep is an 80's rig. So, just use the shafts on the opposite sides?

You know it's bad when your car is on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!
I run Dutchman 35-spline axles in the rear D44 on my YJ. It is a late model GW housing with a 35 spline ARB and Dutchman shafts. I have blown front u-joints but never had issue with the rear.
The guy that built this axle (machined out the housing a little, etc. so the JK ARB worked) ordered them. He ran it for awhile, then one of his buddies ran it in an old cherokee mud truck without issue. I bought it from him. I have not taken it easy on the axles, as folks at ECI can probably atest. But I don't try to break them, either.
My YJ is spring-over, I added a truss over the diff, anti-wrap bar, inboarded /\ shocks, and I am running4.56's and 35" tires. I don't expect to go any larger and doubt I will ever have issue with the axles as they are. I suppose I could bend a tube..but I doubt it.
My fronts are not Dutchman, but I did go CrMo after splaying the end of an inner shaft when a u-joint exploded while out playing in the snow.
One day I will wake up and realize that my jeep is complete...one day, I just know it.

I had a buddy with some mad skills (and a really nice Hobart!) help reinforce the truss a little since the outers wouldn't fit with my setup. Considering how beef the steel is, I don't think the outer supports were really needed for these narrow axles. I think they make 1 for all D44's. If putting it on a full size axle, they would fit without issue, I think.
He also has a plasma cutter, which came in handy for opening up the axle cutouts. As it came from Barnes, they were not quite large enough to slide over my axle tubes.
We also got creative with the antiwar. Notice the top and bottom bars are off-centered in order to make it all fit. It all moves as it should.
I broke one of my shocks and have since upgraded to 5160's out back. Moving the reservoirs gave me a little more room under there.

About year ago I fried my bearings in the back and managed to "burn" passenger shaft in the process. Owner of American Vintage 4X4 suggested I go Dutchman and get new axle shaft. They have shop here in Boise ID area so I was glad to deal with local business. I took my old ones in for inspection and sizing, four days later I had new ones installed. Honestly I do not do a whole lot of heavy off roading but thus far I could not be happier with the way they have performed.
