Skid plate

Post by surfwagoneer »

Ok so I just started fabbing up my trans/belly skid plate. Anyone have any pictures or ideas of what they have done? Still in the cardboard stages so its not to late to change my design if needed.

Allow room to access the bolts for WHEN you bend the plate. Give tanks, etc a couple inches breathing room. Also, if you plan to go into mud, you want holes to wash it out so the frame doesn't rot (like the later models)

Yea I've seen that one. Nice but not looking to drop that kind of money.

Heh i like that one too! I had to make version 2.0 after that one since i somehow lost it, or it was stolen. Only used stiffeners at the front and back and so far no issues.

J20 brett.....great looking skid. Very close to what I'll be making. I will have a solid crossmember behind the T-case to support it too. The rear crossmember will be there to mount the shackle to my track bar.
