FSJ Junk Yard finds

Post by Charles Kline »

Thought it would be beneficial to have a tread where we could post on FSJs we find in Rocky Mountain area Junk Yards.

I went down to Colorado Springs on Friday and found a '77 Wagoneer with an in tact boobie grill.

88 GW was still there at LKQ Aurora on 8/14. Bad rust holes on two doors and front quarters. Headliner warped and cardboard ripped. Otherwise some good burgundy interior parts. Tailgate had rust bubbling below switch. Motor had mice nest (ick) but was mostly complete along with rest of drive train.

Is the LKQ in Aurora the old "Pull n Save" or are you talking about somewhere else? I might start looking for more woodgrain trim....

Yeah and they still kinda kept the name, just like LKQ - Denver is the old Western Auto Salvage, they still answer the phone "Western LKQ" and mark the parts with a W. I've been going to that yard since it was just the small area that they now use to store the cars for crushing.

Colorado Auto Salvage off Radcliffe rd in Littleton is my favorite yard. No entry fee. But I've never seen a FSJ there.

If it were me, I would move this somewhere else beside the Ouray section but I am not going to scratch my head on it. Not sure how much coverage it will get here.

My thought was that its not going to benefit anyone outside the Colorado area. If it ends up not being useful we can let it die and delete it, but there is always going to be someone looking for parts. ;)

'71 at Co Springs U Pull

Looks like it was stripped clean before it even got in the yard. (and beat to hell before then)

The axles may have some value. They appear to be newer 6 lug style with open knuckles & front disk brakes.

Was it stock height? If it's lifted I'll make a trip down tomorrow.

There is a good tan dash pad at the CO springs U Pull. its the wrap down on the pass side style. I wasn't able to snap a photo but it looked to be crack free. on a 76 wag.

LKQ in Aurora has an '81 Cherokee.

Before you get excited about the grill, the Mustache frame is split and dented and that muscle grill is broken on the driver side.

Beautiful headliner (I sent that photo to shimniok the minute I saw it) ;)

Those visors are great shape, I grabbed those and some of the dash parts, to replace the parts the kid PO oversprayed with grey primer in my Honcho.

Poor muscle grill

Back seat is dirty but in great shape!

both side glass is in great shape

Did it still have the wiring harness? How rusty was it?

Yes, it's only been there 2 days.

Lots of fender rust, didn't get under it.
