Speaking of warming up, it was 70 in the house when we got home from work. It got up in the 60s today by golly. We are currently planning for a high to extreme wildland fire season this year with the lack of winter precip. We did get 6" freaky spring snow last week with 1-2 feet over 10,000 feet. It was melted by the next morning.
By July each year Krista and I have just about had enough of Mesa Verde Nat'l Park and really look forward to and enjoy the time, trails and KOA camp fire socials.
HAWT DAWG! I am really glad we didn't take any pictures of the time we almost went off in the canyon in Wally while running up to Yankee Boy when there was still 12-18" snow across the trail. We had the itch for the mountains bad and was first week of June. Wally tore up a good bit of alpine tundra in a reverse 180* loop to get back on the trail. It was a white knuckle day.
Unfortunately I will not be there this year or next. Uncle Sam decided I should go on a sightseeing tour to KOREA. I am going to visit the DMZ for a year and then I shall return.

well i am starting to plan together the details of my trip this year, and it is going to be one busy week. we are going to be leaving denver on saturday with my truck trailer and three dirtbikes, and driving down to Rico. i cant say enough about how awsome the trails down there are. sunday and monday will be spent riding in rico. tuesday we ill be driving down to Durango, to pick up my girlfriend, who is flying in from houston. after we resupply we will drive up 550 to ouray! then we will spend the rest of the week doing whatever, untill he have to drive back on sunday. at least this year my truck is not in a million parts right now, but i still have lots of work i need to do.

You know it's bad when your car is on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!

Sorry you can't make it this year. Not 100% I can. What about your cabin? That would put a even more push on me to make it. I'll be in need of a break from here by then.

So I got lucky (very lucky) and scored the week off of work. Reservations made and Dave put me in site 49 (I guess XJChad downsized?). Arrive Tuesday and leave Saturday.
