Hi. My wife and I live in Fort Collins, CO and have even been to Ouray but I didn't even know about the invasion.

What is the basic info on this trip?

Camping and trail riding? Would you say the trails are green to blue difficulty (to use skiing terminology)?

A stock FSJ will make it just fine assuming low range?

We would love to go in 2015 if you will have us...

Thanks,

Sean

We hang out around the camp site and talk jeep most of the time.

Very casual.

Very relaxed.

No real plan.

There are no trails in the Ouray area that are 'difficult'. My rigs are way overbuilt for them. Bone stock, WELL RUNNING FSJ's will do just fine.

Pick you one of those blue spots or a spot near them. That whole back section from the pull through sites 56-60 and 51-55 are all grouped together. The above map is skewed a bit to fit better in the format. Go to Google maps and look at a satellite view.

Get there early and stay late if possible. There is always something going on from Sun to Sun.

Cool! :-bd Welcome Sean!

39 used to be an RV spot. Looks like I need to get a fresh map for our Invasion.

This is a pic of 40A 's back porch.. #39 is an identical cabin.

They are very nice, little kitchens and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. A little cramped for space inside but has very very nice beds and appliances.. It has a gas grill as well as a fire pit. It also has a huge back deck that goes out to the creek. You'll want to pee all night long listening to it. I stayed in 62A last year. I'd stay in one of those hoity toity cabins if not for the dog. Instead I stay in the ones across the creek which have just beds and a porch swing. Damn did I love that swing I about wore it out.

Last July I took these pics so I would have reference for myself on the different spots and to help others decide. KOA used to have all the pics of sites on their web site but no more. I need to go ahead and get my spot reserved myself. I wish they would put a couple cabins in the back. I got a little lonely in 62A last year. Only 2 people come by for pancakes. 1 for dinner and 1 who would come creeping in late at night and crash in the bunk bed for 4 or 5 nights then blast off in the morning.
A couple of people said hi as they passed by.

We have the new map. It is a larger format and easier to read. The forum automatically down sizes pictures so you don't see it full size here. The map is correct now as far as I know.
