I am not for sure how many deluxe cabins there are, but I know I have one reserved for I think Tuesday night through Saturday morning. I actually thought they were reasonable priced. I think mine was $154 a night. By the time you count 2 adults and 2 kids plus possibly the Mother and Father in Law staying in there, it is a pretty good deal.

Man it is hard to keep them in the right order!

Did you get a KOA VIP Card? If not then get one and you will save enough from the first rental to pay for it and then some.
The deluxe cabins are nice although they are short on space. But with kids and all you will love the no waiting in line at the shower house for bathroom use or shower use. Not to mention you can cook and keep things cold with the small kitchen.
If it wasn't for my dog I'd stay in one myself. Instead I'll be across the stream from you in a regular no frills cabin. It's going to be nice this trip having Jeepers as neighbors in the cabins around me.

Hoot, yes I got a VIP card. It did save a lot of money.

Is there any cell service out there? If so, what carrier has the best coverage? With my business I am not on the phone a lot while on vacation, but I need to at least be reachable if they have a problem or question.

There is decent to good service around Ouray, Silverton, Tohelluride. There is WiFi at the KOA. Once you got up towards the trails, forget it. The top of Imogene Pass has good service. I forget the best service provider, Verizon I think.

I have Verizon.
I could get text almost anyplace.
I got voice mail at the top of Imogene one year from my dentist.
Service on the Telluride side of the mountains was great, I could upload pictures off of Last Dollar Road.
There are spots where you loose service completely, but it's usually not long.
At the KOA the Verizon coverage was faster than their wifi on my phone but Ipads and tablets seem to do real well.

Forgot about text. I was pretty surprised when Tad texted us during the hail storm up at Alta Lakes in 13.

Can two people and two vehicles share a site? I'd like to bring the Cherokee and my support team/friend in his s10. Would he be welcome on ride alongs in his cheby?

And also, would I be a nuisance in a stock rig?

Stock rigs should be able to travel all trails except for Poughkeepsie.

I may be able to bring the grand kids if I can pull it together this year. I'm itching to get the Honcho or Black Jack ready for the trip ! How hard/expensive is LPG out there?

I can answer that by simply saying I bring all my propane from NM with me. The one time I bought propane for Crom there they not only charged me road tax they then added sales tax on top making propane more expensive than gasoline! I do have to say that my tank is permanently bolted to the rig requiring it to be taken to the station if you are using some kind of bottle system you may get better price. When I go I drag a trailer with a 100 gallon tank and fill both up just before we cross the border

I have a 200 gallon travel tank I can bring. It can stay in my trailer at the campsite while we're wheeling with the two 50 gallon tanks
