Honestly I'd be ecstatic just to drive on a flat dirt road at this point. Gnarly trails aren't necessary (yet) :)

I think we should plan a Rampart Range in May. I'm free May 11, 12, 18, 19. How 'bout you folks?

You, too, eh?? :-/

I'm in. It might be an FSJ. Or it might be quite a bit shorter in the Escape. Depends on how fast I can get plates or temp tags.

May 11/12 is good for me. Haven't been down to Rampart in years. I don't remember much to 4wheel on though. Mostly dirt bike/atv trails.

BTW we are making our annual trip to the Walden Sand Dunes May 22nd to May 28th, Memorial day weekend. This is a HUGE gathering of folks. I bet there are over 1000 people there. Mostly atv/dirt bikes/sand rails, but lot's of 4x4's too. Krystal is driving the LX450 and I'm driving the Honcho. We have a quad with paddles tires as well.

Everyone is welcome! We have a large group of folks who make the trip every year. It's become a tradition for many of us.

Any stock 4x4 can play in the sand.

I'm gone turkey hunting that weekend as of right now, but that might change.

Ok, so... let's plan on 5/11.

There's not much to wheel, no, but I am hopeful that we'll get to that later in spring/summer.

I'd love to do the dunes and Medano Pass but have my little girl's bday party during that time.

I'm talking about the actual Walden Sand Dunes that are OHV friendly, NOT the ones down south that have been restricted from OHV since the year 1913.

5/11 sounds good to me. How 'about we change the location? Maybe one of the Boulder Country trails like Bunce, Switzerland, Johnny Park, Rollins Pass, Mamoth, etc.

Oh, right. Duh. Walden Sand Dunes.

Would be up for any of those, myself. They are all easy trails. All look scenic. I'm always open to exploring new trails.

ive done mosquito pass in a xj but id never do it in a full size. i live 15 minutes from montezuma where there are dozens of trails and most of them are snowed in. but ill be checking them regularly once it warms up and let everyone know when they are open

We've done Bunce School Road a couple of times this season already.

This site says it's closed though... http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/arp/recre ... rdb5339508

I'll try to sneak up to Bunch this weekend and check it out for sure.

I will be running Mt. Herman Rd / Rampart Range Rd / Garden of the Gods on Saturday.

Both are easy trails with some decent scenery. About 36 miles, 4-5 hrs.

(I'll be in our red AWD Element -- I think it'll make it? The Jeep won't be legal by Saturday...)

Meet 9:00AM at the Monument, CO Village Inn [map]

We'll run Mt. Herman Road to Rampart Range Rd, turn south, and head for Garden of the Gods and tour that.

PM me or post here if you're going.
