Colorado meet?

Post by Snowstorm »

Ok, sound off if you please, gents...

I'm trying to find out if there are any meets in CO, and also to check interest in a meet in Fairplay. I could get great deals, as I'm great friends with the owners of the big hotel there, and there are lots of trails within thirty mins. Mosquito Pass, Westin Pass, Red Cone, Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Leadville...would definitely be a good time!

Feeling out for early May? What's everyone think?

Sounds good to me. I'd love to wheel some of those trails, but they may not be open in May...

They might not be...but with how this winter has been...

Usually Mosquito is completely doable by May. I guess we'll have to play it by ear - once we get a little closer to that time, I might run up there and check some of them out. I have a lot of buddies in the area that would go out for a 2-3 vehicle quick run, and that way we can check out what's passable all around there.

I'm dying to get back on the trail. It's been over four years now. Hoping to bring my little girl who is... coincedentally... 4 years old (in May) :D

I'm sure we can get Scott and a couple other FSJers out on the trail too. It's been too long since CFSJA had any regular trail runs.

I might be up for that, too. Nothing too gnarly. And no tight switchbacks, either.

Is anyone here going to Ouray? I am :fsj:

Yeah, we should meet up. Just name a time/place. I usually have one of the Jeep running and able to 'wheel. :D

I'd love to do a shake down run and introduce my little girl to the fun sometime in May / June before attempting Ouray this year. THen definitely want to run some passes, etc in July/Aug/Sep. What's open early?

Check Traildamage.com for trail details.

Slaughterhouse Gulch is probably open. That one requires good articulation. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=2

Rampart Range & Mt. Herman might be too easy (they're both dirt roads as I recall). I like it anyway.

There are some fun rollercoaster dirt roads down south but can't remember the name.

Chinaman Gulch is relatively low elevation but really tough. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=1

What else is open in May/June?

I am a total off-road novice, so something on the easier side would be great.

LOL! I was wondering who would notice.

Be careful or you'll find an extra passenger in TC.

Sweet man. I can't wait.

The plan is to have my rear W/T fenders welded on and painted before Ouray. Should be cool to have two W/T waggies, each with an injected 401 in Ouray!
