Moab - Spring 2013

Post by fulsizjeep »

Looks like there will be at least 2 FSJs in Moab next week. None of mine. I have shotgun with Gambler68. We will be on the trail somewhere on April 3. Another regular for Ouray will be there all week. Should be a HOOT!

Anyone else gonna be there?

Sounds like the Black Box on Jerry's Cherokee was making noise and maybe over heating. Turned around in Nebraska and is back home working on a plan. Looks like Ken will be there with his girl friend, Dawn. Ryan and I depart in about 24 hours. I got a tent site with a shelter. Chance of rain 30%

Another year passes without Moab for me. :( I was really getting the itch bad last weekend with the warm weather, remembering what it's like standing out there on the slickrock. Very happy thoughts.

I see that one pic of Flint's rig has TC in the foreground. That was probably the last time the truck was out there... when was that 2004 or something?

Post lots of pics and be safe and stuff.

2005 - That was a good trip Michael! :-bd

Just got home and showered. There was a nice shower roll through Moab about an hour before we got there last night. The ground was dry this morning but the dust had been knocked down. Very little stirred up on the trail and it was a clear day with a cool breeze and about 72. We had a beautimous day running all of Fins and Things. I was again impressed and humbled with where you can take a QT Wag on 235s. Pix after rest.

We are so close we that we should get there at least a few times a year. Would welcome an Invasion of Ouray proportions there. Lots of sleeping options. The Canyonlands camp ground (tent w/shelter $31) is right in town a block from Moab Brewery. Where Ken and Michelle camped it was a walk in just a few blocks off the main drag. Also some back country like camping available north of town. Then there are dog friendly motels too. It would be a blast to get at least one good Moab Invasion with twenty something or more FSJs. It is a great playground with a totally different vista from the San Juan Mtns.

I feel kind of stupid that I had not looked at our 13-14 calendar until yesterday.
For the first time in 22 years of working here our spring break is not tied to easter sunday.
I am off from March 15-22, 2014.
If I am still employed that is.
