Sorry you cant make it Michel!

I will have a working CB, a cell phone, and two (1 extra) hamm-held hand radios... or something like that.

I can't wait... I wasn't able to hook up the ARB's but Brutus is ready!

Tom and I will be caravanning to Moab starting EARLY Thursday morning departing Morrison. I think most of you have my number and I have most of yours so... see you there!

Shimniok and I are caravaning on Thursday morning as well but not too early. Lets just hope the weather holds out going through the tunnel and over Vail Pass....

The pre-moab stretches revealed a problem. Double Cardan joint is screwed. New one goes on tomorrow night and then it's off to Moab the following day.

I don't think I am going to do the front crank seal. If I goof there is no time to fix my error. I'll just leak and bring extra oil. :). I still have to get the rear brakes adjusted better. Shouldn't take long. Then lots of packing...

Pre moab checks revealed that I had forgotten to fully weld the shackle reverse.

I also had forgotten to replace all the spring bolts.

I'm working til 4pm tomorrow then loading up the gooseneck and heading out!

I can help with the crank seal if you want. I've done a couple and I have the tool to pull the balancer. They're not terribly difficult.

Though doing it without pulling the whole timing cover off does complicate it. The trick is in getting the seal started without jamming it in cross ways.

If you can't fix it with a hammer or duct tape you have an electrical problem.

Drove the dually to work. Gonna load the honcho up during lunch and then we should be ready to hit the hwy by 5pm!

Not sure when everyone else is leaving for Moab but I just got a text from Blake that I70 was closed last night for four hours. Might behoove us to check the CDOT webpage for closures and road conditions before we leave.

Looks like Georgetown to Eagle/Vail is showing scattered showers/wet/icy. Updated conditions on the scroll box to the right.

Yup.

This was the top of vail pass last night. The old dually ran perfect, but it couldn't pull vail pass until I moved the honcho far forward on the trailer. All that pin weight gave her just enough traction to make the climb.

7mgp while towing, but the 496 does have enough power. Just enough to hold 70mph pretty good.

Come on over folks!

I'm cold, bloody, exhausted, smell like gas, and my throat is sore from cussin but I am ready...ish. :)

Wouldn't be the same without a night-before thrash fest.

Fuel line pinhole leak showed up today after spending a few hours charging the flat battery from last nite (oops).

Replaced most of the feed and return lines. New fuel filter. Hopefully no more leaks appear.

Didn't finish adjusting rear brakes. Tomorrow am?

Mostly packed.

Maybe I should bring my snow chains :)

See you guys tomorrow evening. I hope. :)

Edit: we are rolling out tomorrow around 8ish.

I made it to the RV park so that I know I can find it in the AM.

Headed up to the hills now. I'll be back at the park around noon.

Drive safe everyone.
