I hadn't even seen the ads. Then I opened it up in IE and there they are. They are not showing in Chrome. On one hand, I don't mind a guy trying to get a website to pay for itself. But building revenue to make a profit off everyone else's posting seems a little unfortunate.

I took a look. At that moment there were 132 'active' members. 16 members and 116 guests.
Over on Jeepforum.com they had 3407 with 470 members and the rest are guests.

I don't know at what point you might be able to 'break even'. Obviously as the use goes up so does the cost. But you might be able to get more for each ad. jeepforum.com allows you to become a paying member and get things like 'advance search' and other stuff.

And WOW. http://www.virtualjeepclub.com/ has 10947 on line with 443 actual members on line. It hit a record of almost 14000 in the middle of July.

ifsja.org hey day was back in 2007. But there were 'years of neglect' where automated sign up wasn't possible and other forum issues. It will be interesting to see if it can recover. The owners may have missed their opportunity.

The issue I had was using the brand new laptop it showed google pron site ads. If you have javascript off for this site, then it acts up too.

Google doesn't show porn ads. They ad they have up there is a google ad. It may have been something like victoria's secret, but they never ever show porn.

It was ads for Zoosk, Fbuddy (with bare chested ladies in the ad photo) and V pills. Now I'm getting Alaska airlines and Semi-Truck financing along with CJ Pony Car parts.

More of a lurker both here and there, but have been on both as such for a couple years, and in the defense of the site if you are seeing ads from those place I can only see 2 options from what I am seeing of the google ads...

1. problem with your computer (spyware/malware of some type).
2. Maybe you had some other extra curricular sites open and forgot.

Google has never to my knowledge allowed ads from such sites, if you continue to see you need to check your computer and contact google ads....

I've never seen any of those adds & they don't bother me. It's good to see all the attention it's still a great site & it work for some. I'll not hate on either site they both rock. I can log on faster their than I can here. But it's just not a deal to me. Nothing can whack that sites legacy. This site rocks too. I can have my cake & eat it too. Kind of funny something like that bothers so may when 90% of websites do it. If it's the only site you go to that does that That would be news but it is the standard. Some great folks over there. The small crowd can be a plus to some.

I don't hate the old site, and no animosity to those (or he) that runs it. I'm basically unconcerned about it. I visited recently, and was surprised it even still exists.
