What site is a good one for 1998 Grand Cherokees?

Post by HOOT »

Facebook or web site doesn't matter to me. The facebook sites I requested to join are not replying. I'm looking for info on these Jeeps. My neighbor has what looks like a really nice one he is about to sell. I know nothing of these and just looking for general info and what to look out for.

It is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 318 and full time four wheel drive. 200,000 miles.

It needs an exhaust system put on it.
Transmission was rebuilt not long ago.
Driver side interior door handle is broke off.
It has 2 inch spring spacers on it.

Overall the Jeep looks great. Only rust I seen was along the base of the rear hatch is is starting to rust. Underneath looks really clean. Front seats are showing their age with a couple of tears.

Going to take it out on a test ride in a week or so. Any advice?

This is a ZJ. 1998 was its last year. I think the best site is likely the ZJ forum on JeepForum http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/ I am more familiar with the WJ forum (1999-2004) but both forums have a FAQ that will give you some background, and the forum members seem like a decent lot. AFAIK current owners of ZJ like them generally, but the newest ones are now 20 years old. Lots of ZJs and WJs were bought new here in the Northeast as all-weather commuter cars. You see quite a few of them around in various conditions.

I was on this one until a couple years ago. Still a member I think.
the newbie part wasn't as good as the other parts.
I mainly tried to help the newbies and ended up with most of my posts there.
I had a 1999 V-8 GC.

Have some good one.. On Me.. Don S..
