Isn't there already a thread for...

Post by KJ Ryu »

..."interesting and unusual" PO mods?

I change my rear brakes today and discovered two short shoes on the driver's side with about 1/16" of pad left. The passenger side had the long shoes, both worn to about half their original length and mere millimeters at their thickest point. I knew they were bad when I started hearing grinding a couple weeks ago but, wasn't expecting the shoes to be that messed up.

On a side note: Drums are becoming VERY hard to find. At least around here. Next time they need replaced, I'll probably just convert to discs.

I have come across people that have done that same thing before. Drums from china seem to be easy-ish to find, but they need to be turned before you can even use them.

Got mine from Napa but I didn't look for a "made in" sticker. I was just happy to find any, after everywhere else said they couldn't even get them.

The drums I got from Oreily said Made in Mexico and were perfect out of the box. The Napa drums on Wyatt's waggy didn't say where they were made and should have been turned. Should have... :banghead:
