Nice truck. I love the Scout's. When I dropped off my Jeep for some work there was a 'travelall' that was in very nice shape waiting for some work as well.
Only reason I have a Wag is that the Scouts are two door.
I hate the Travelers, though. You couldn't give me one.

'84 GW with Nissan SD33T, early Chev NV4500, 300, narrowed Ford reverse 44, narrowed Ford 60, SOA/reversed shackle in fornt, lowered mount/flipped shackle in rear.
On a side note, the seats are completely shot in this thing. Since a lot of you have taken seats from newer vehicles, anyone tried using the heated seats from a modern car? I know they make universal kits, but Im too lazy and cheap for that. I was thinking more along the lines of buying them from a upull and using a universal toggle switch.
I've had a '73 ScoutII and a '70 800. I like the 80/800's better than the ScoutIIs. However, in my Scout I replaced the 304 with a Chrysler 360 with Challenger headers bolted to a TF727. I would love to have a Travel-All pickup truck conversion... With a diesel
So I was looking at the wiring on my scout last night ti figure out what I needed to do to make it run and found some fun wiring.
The power cable going to the coil, is attached to the #1 cylinder spark plug cable via a clamp, and half the wires are exposed.
So, what's everyone's opinion. Should I go wire by wire and replace them to fix the horrid mess in it now, or just use it as an excuse to pick up an LS?
OMG, IH has the worst wiring. My '73 had all Green wires w/o numbers. I replaced the inside harness with one from a junk yard because it was so bad and only got worse as I worked on it.

They did that because green wires do a better job of spreading the rust around the body.
I dig scouts though. My dad used to sell IH back in the 60s. He had a story of going on a test drive with a customer in an 800. Guy lost control and it rolled down the mountain, somewhere in New York.
One of my friends stays on a property around here that is a massive storage yard for old cars. It has THE largest collection of IH pickups I've ever seen! Not sure who owns them but he has a goodmine. There is even a crew cab!
