You understand that a '90 2150 has a 2-stage power valve? This is a 1-stage valve, much cheaper than a 2-stage. Might run ok, but it won't be like stock.

Probably. I don't know for sure. They used a 2-stage so the cruise mixture could be leaner without inducing noticeable hesitation at part-throttle. There may be part-throttle positions that bog. Certainly WOT will work fine.

If you look at your carburetor, you should see that the power valve cover is nearly an inch deep to accommodate the taller 2-stage valve. The cover for the 1-stage valve is about 1/4" deep.

No, the 2stage Power Valves are a problem because they dont open at the correct vacuum for older / tired motors. I have had the best performance with an -8 or -9. Holley will fit the 2100's but are 1 thread away from being too short. The Quick Fuel ones have more threads that allow you to tighten them.

So which one should I get then? My engine atm is not too tired...she is still pretty strong for an older engine. I hope that lasts long enough for me to rebuild a 360...

I have had the best performance with -8. I believe the 2 stage units are 7 & 5 [something crazy like that]. I found that 7 and lower allow a stumble/hesitation. I have a -9 in mine right now.

Howard, you understand what the numbers mean? I believe that's the vacuum when the valve opens. Vacuum holds the power valve closed, so an 8 will open at 8 or less. The wider the throttle, the lower the vacuum. 8 adds gas sooner than 7.

After reading the post I believe I do now. This is a BIG help :) If I understand it correctly i know which one to get now :) This is the link the dealer said would be the one I need, but I cannot find an indicator. These folks have been really cool with me and contacting me. I think what I will do is get a carb number and send it to them to be sure. Their prices are really good :) Could be a good source in the future for us folks who still run Carbs :)
