So i fail safety inspection because of

So i failed the safety inspection today because my oil breather cap wasnt on.. I guess i forgot to put it on because i filled it with some stp earlier.. I said the cap is there did you look.. Oh no i looked all over its no wherr..



I bring him outside open hood and its sitting next to tube i pop it back on and slam my hood and tell the guy to give me my 16$ back and said he needs another proffesion.

I also noticed when he was doing insoection 20 mechanics swarmed my Jeep and they were openeing doors looking inside. and also turned on my a.c for some reason.. I had water dripping from the body when i got it back and my a.c was on cold when i had heat to hot.

Why did they turn on my a.c that isnt a part of inspection.. Did wanna see if the old antique had working air like everyone almost asks me. They were also revving the engine and listening to the tailpipe smiling.. Like really

And if so what gives them the right to have 20 guys open my doors and tailgate and push buttons and rev my engine ? Im kinda ticked off.. Is it just me or would you guys have been too ?

I would have been irritated they where reving it up.. yet flattered then walked over and asked if there was an issue and maybe turned it into a cool conversation... nothing is damaged so I would personally let it go.

He wouldnt pass me. lol thats the thing.. I was just blown away.. So now i have to find another shop

glad we don't have those inspections here.

But we do have emmissions testing and that is 100% stupid too!

Yeah, no safety inspections at all here in California. Certain areas have bi-annual smog inspections (my area does not).

NM gave up on safety inspections years ago, almost everybody had a buddy who worked at a gas station who would just change out the sticker for you

I have no idea where you are, but I have a suggestion where you need to be--nowhere near that inspection station evermore.

Dont feel bad I get that as well in safety inspection here. 95 burb with a 350 an a Whipple on it. Halftrac gets the "oh you have a neat/cool truck your husband built for you" uh no I built it. As in she builds her own trucks. They just dont get to see old iron any more. She hates the "oh you need to LS it "bull as well. Just smile it will confuse them.

I went to another shop.. as i was there the mechanics startrd knocking their knuckles on my Jeep to check the wood and doing the same crap looking inside and turning stuff on so i got in my jeep and left mid inspection. The inspector even told thrm to stop touching my Jeep.. but still if they wanna talk about it. cool but stop touching what isnt yours.

I went accross street and this guy was nice.. he looked at it for like a min saw the work ive put into it. and said you pass. i can see youve done a lot of work to it.

He said the power steering leak he didnt even care about lol
