Led interior bulbs

Post by candymancan »

Ive replaced the intrument cluster bulbs with white leds and overhead console with white leds. I also wired a small led light bar for the trunk area.

I cant find LEDS for the two floor lights they are GE63 bulbs that you push and twist. So i bought regular ones to at least replace my dull old ones. Looked decent but after two days one bulb the filament went bad.. Replaced it. a day later that one went bad.. another day later my passenger one went bad.. So 3 bulbs.. Not sure if its my Jeep or these made in china bulbs... My originals work fine just old and not as bright.

So id lIke LED bulbs for these sockets.. Same with the glove box light and the ash tray light and the light for the 4wd switch.

If anyone could point ne to the right bulbs thatd help a lot because autozone doesnt sell a 63 floor bulb for led. Im debating on removing that old fixture cutting the wires off and wiring up a little led light strip instead. What do you think ?

Yeah, LEDs are either on or off, so they "dim" by means of pulse width modulation (PWM, turning on and off really really fast), so a PWM modulator would be necessary. Some LEDs have this built into the housing, like dimmable LED replacement household light bulbs.

Front footwell bulbs??? IIRC, 1157 style bulbs fit the socket. Easy to check with a tail light bulb.
