I have two 1991 Grand Wagoneers. One VIN number ends 802979 and one ends 802792. I understand that 1,560 were built that year, and I am curious as to the VIN number range for that production run. The last one built ended up in the Chrysler museum, but I cannot find its VIN number listed anywhere. Anyone have the VIN range for 1991 GWs? I would love to know when each of these rolled off the line in Toledo!
Welcome to the forum. I think this will get more traffic in General FSJ since you have a question. Is the build date not on the driver door post VIN sticker? I have an 88 and that type has faded out in the last few years. Mine was built July 87 just as Chrysler was taking the helm with Jeep.
Just a comment - the sequential part of the VIN (the serial number) includes all Jeep production, in the order they came off the line. The SN does not tell you anything specifically about where you are in that 1560 other than 792 came off the line before 979.
