Replacement Keys made from key code

Post by madbenny »

Hello All,

I just picked up a 1989 GW and I only have the ignition key but I was lucky enough to buy this from the original owner whole kept everything along with the dealer key tag with the key codes. Any idea where I can get keys made just buy the code?

Thanks in advance

any locksmith an quickly make a new key from the door cylinder which is very easy to remove - if it were me i would just buy a new set with keys from BJ's tor TGW, as a copy from a worn cylinder is less than ideal

If the key is made/cut by code, it would be just like a new and unused factory key.

Yes, like a new key. At work we use Chev trucks and have had keys cut from vin. On one older truck the keys did not work. Tried 3 times. Turned out the cylinders were to worn and needed replcemennt.
