I don't have many details, but my friends 6 cylinder, 5 speed YJ is popping out of first gear. It has a body lift and the shifter was hitting the dash at one point, but the shifter was bent so it wouldn't hit the dash. The shifter isn't hitting the tranny tunnel/carpet.
I think it has over 100k miles on it. Was used as a DD for most of it's life. Only in the last couple of years was it lifted and I don't think it's ever been 'wheeled more than a couple of times...

Ding Ding! I think we got a winner.
Right before I bought my last 2 Wags I almost bought an early 90s YJ with a 5 speed that would do the same thing- synchros were gone. As soon as that happened I didnt go through with the buy, but the dealer bought a used tranny for a couple hundred bucks.

People like to shift into first gear while moving. Its very hard on the transmission and should be avoided if possible. This goes for most all manuals.
A 95 with a 4.0 will have an AX15, which is a great transmission. That one just happens to have the first gear syncho shot. Although it could be a bad bearing on one of the shafts as well.
Not sure what they go for there. Here they go for more than they are worth I think. Here they go for 4-8k. With 8k being the later 4.0 models in good shape.
I'll get some pics up. She wants around 6k for it. Has a very nice swing out tire carrier, new 33x12.50's, nice bumpers, good paint job. Interior is missing some pieces, but she has 'em. Runs like a top but first is shot.
No, it's been repainted. I think the original color was light blue. They did better than a 'half @$$' job, but not much better. It looks good though. A little overspray here and there and they did the entire tub.
No it's my old manager's jeep here at work. She brought it over a couple of months ago wanted me to fix it, but I was busy building my own junk.
Now that I'm sick of it being in my way, I asked her what he wanted me to do. So we agreed that I would rebuild the tranny for $700 if she supplies the rebuilt kit.
I've looked at a few AX15 rebuild threads and it doesn't seem to bad.
