I'll be trading my full doors for some half doors in a couple of weeks. Straight up trade, plus he's throwing in cash for a new window for one that leaks.
The half doors are something I've wanted since I bought it.
The eventual plan is to get the sliders for them for the winters here. I generally don't roll the windows down, except to get into work. I can deal with it.
I run 1/2 doors in the summer, I used to go doorless in the LJ, but I lost one of those door light retention springs. It takes some getting used to when I went doorless... But the 1/2 doors work just a good. I run full doors in the winter, though.
Biggest drawback to the soft uppers in winter is the windows getting iced/snowed up. And leaks, of course. New sliders are about $425 to $450, depending on where you look, so if I save my pennies, I should have them pretty soon, before winter anyway.
I may go that route eventually, but I have to give the wife a chance to cool off/forget first... She thinks I'm nuts to want to trade. I've always thought Jeep should give the buyer an option to get both full and half doors if they want. They do it with tops, so why not?
Our TJ has half doors and we have the sliding windows. They work great but never really sealed right, whenever it rains the driver and passenger get soaked.
Here's a photo that kind of shows it:
The window frames are of a hard shell so maybe they're meant for the hardtop? Either way they don't sit flush against the windshield and that's where the water gets in.

You know it's bad when your car is on the EPA's 10 most wanted list!
I like it! And they are the perfect height to rest an arm on!

2006 LJ - spacers, 33's, pocket flairs, dents, and too much courage
1973 Wagoneer - still not sure why, but since it's here it's going to be cool.
Got back on Thursday night from a 2 week vacation in Dallas (sorry I couldn't get down to Athens Howard).
While I was down that way, Collins Bros Jeep had some stock Canyons rims for sale for $40 per, I bought 5.
Some over at wranglerforum.com consider it a down grade, but the wheels that came off were 15x10, steel and about twice as heavy as the stock 15x8 Canyon wheels.
