Did the unthinkable, got a NEW Jeep

Post by Grand_Wag_85 »

Never EVER thought I'd say this but I bought a vehicle designed in the 21st century and manufactured in this decade.

internet stock photo but an identical twin

Up until now my daily driver has been an 84 AMC Eagle for nearly 7 years, which ironically enough outlived the Silverado I bought to phase it out.

Nice! We bought the wife a left over '14 JKU last summer. Great little Jeep (it's actually bigger than my Cherokee). I'll be dumping my Cummins soon and hopefully by the time I get back from this deployment the new Wrangler pickup will be out and hopefully with a diesel option.

2017 according to Jeep. But not sure if thats 2017 model year, or announced, and then be a 2018 model. But I am super excited about it.

I bought a 2013 Wrangler JK sport in Dune after selling my Scout ii. I really like it.

I'd be really interested to see the new Jeep truck, and drive it.

One thing that has got my attention on this JK since it's a 6spd is the "hill start assist mode" While starting on a hill it appears that the Jeep will hold the brakes on so you don't roll back. Definitely does not have the low end grunt of the 258 but the fuel mileage more than makes up for it.

Have you seen the real photos of it? It's a Feep. They took the worst body designs of the late model Trailhawk and Fiat Panda smooshed together.

No photos have been released yet. All the photos on the net are one off custom concept creations. They're saying it will be on a stretched JL chassis (Next Generation Wrangler for 2017) so I'm assuming it will be fairly Wrangler-esque. Hopefully available in an extended cab or 4 door and hopefully the bed isn't completely useless. I'd really like to see a diesel model with a 6 speed manual but I'm not holding my breath on any of this.

Nothing has been released. We have no idea what the next wrangler will look like even. The most recent truck concepts are the Nukiser and the J12 concept. Both of which are wrangler based (On the current JK), which the new one will be based on the next gen Wrangler.

BTW: There is no Trailhawk model, its just a trim level available on several Jeep models.

Sorry. I read it's based on the TrailHawk .

More fun would be a diesel or Hellcat powered Grand Cherokee version.
This was the spyphoto of the new Wrangler posted it's supposed to be based on.

First is a photoshop, its not new, and its fake.

The second is the Grand Cherokee Hellcat, same 710hp engine as the Challenger/Charger Hellcat, it will be amazing.

Third is a chinese knock off, not a Jeep.

Also, FCA officially put out their revised five year plan. And it discusses the Wrangler Truck and the Wrangler Diesel and mild Hybrid models: http://www.autoblog.com/2016/01/27/fca- ... -official/
