j10 headlight wiring issue

Post by honchov8 »

I'm working on finishing up a complete restoration on my 76 J10. I'm at the point where I'm starting to put the wiring harness back in the cab and get everything hooked up. I'm having an issue with my headlight switch. I have power coming into the switch via the large red wire but I only have power coming out through the red/black tracer wire. I know there is an issue, but I'm just perplexed. Why is there no power coming out any of the other wires? The high beam switch and the headlight switch are both new ( Once I encountered the problem I tried 5-6 other headlight switches but they all acted the same). Could it be a bad high beam switch? Any help will be appreciated

Measure continuity of the switch with your multimeter.
