Like the ads?
I didn't even know they had added ads over there until a couple weeks ago when I had my ad-blocker disabled for something else. lol Who still allows ads?

Ads there are pretty ignorable compared to that Jeep site where every other word you roll over pops up an ad.

Yeah, putting adds on sites these days almost does nothing, not only because browsers have built in ad block now, but because the pay rates are gone down so much. I would love for this thing to pay for itself, but it won't ever happen with ads alone. Unless people agree to unblock them for this site.
Ads and scripts are vectors for malware. Maybe not as bad now as they were when they were flash based. But then there's also all of the tracking that happens with the various scripts these days. Google and Amazon are particularly bad about infecting most websites these days.
That and they slow down the site horribly. Especially on a phone.
Don't forget about thrown away bandwidth. Most cellular plans I'm aware of are tiered in one form or another, I know I certainly don't want to dump a bunch of my data on garbage I don't even want to see.

True. But that's becoming less of an issue as time goes on.
Eight years ago Stuka said he did not want contributions to the site. I would much rather subscribe to this site than have it suffer
the way the IFSJA site does. Subscriptions or contributions, I'm sure a lot of us would pitch in to keep FSJN up and running. And it would
be worth not having ads, scripts, pop-ups, etc.

Eight years! Wow. That just made me feel kinda old. But, I agree and would gladly help to keep this place.

Getting contributions tends to be a a losing proposition once taxes are taken into account. Its literally cheaper for me to just pay for the site myself. Now if it grew to the point that it needs more hardware (Which it is almost at that point now), the price increase is enough that it may make sense. But will cross that bridge when the time comes.
