Need some help finding paint

Post by nylajean44 »

Hey just put on a rocker panel and need to find some white paint. Does anyone have a link to the paint that matches. It’s a 1975.

Do you have the color? Your VIN will let you know what color it was from the factory. Assuming its still a factory color.

Though with it being faded over time, you may need to have the color scanned and a custom color made up to match it.

if you have mostly original paint and you want to color match it even being a solid color and not metallic you will have an impossible time getting an exact match due to UV damage, and paint aging,a friend of mine at an rv dealership says the body shop uses a spectrometer to best align color match on their 500k and up rigs, dont get me wrong they use it on all their paint jobs to best match base colors and painted accents. he says that they usually end up painting a whole 1/4 ,i.e. l/h side,r/h side, front, rear, panels so as not to draw a visual attraction to a small mismatch.

In 1975, you should have Medium Blue Poly and Alpine White, paint code 567. Look here - https://www.autocolorlibrary.com/pages/1975-Jeep.html You can find this info in the '74-80 parts book, available inexpensively at ROckAuto.

Any automotive paint store can mix those colors for you.
