Oh, I was going to recommend a TCI 2000 stall converter. I installed one in my '87 shop truck with a Shift Kit and it is the best street performance change Ive made. It hits stall at 45 mph with 35" tires.

I second Hughes. I went more for driving/economy/light towing and low stall. 503FUEL was the part number they spec'd. Just make sure they know it's for the AMC 727 and not the Mopar as there is no ring gear required. FWIW, I'm rocking the same convertor behind the LS now with no issues.
