Ammeter in a '71

Post by kjandb »

I'm starting to dig into how to bypass my ammeter and reading up on old threads. Everything I'm reading talks about two larger cables, red and yellow, which I don't have. I have the older printed cluster style with the Grey wire as my 'alternator indicator'. Is that the same as an ammeter?

Can someone point me in the right direction? Just trying to NOT burn up my Wagoneer.

You do not have an ammeter (those appeared in 73). The grey wire with the lamp is the power supply to the alternator.
