I gotta wonder how many batteries it took.

Jeeps don't break down, they're just extremely demanding when they need parts replaced!

I have seen that guy before as well. Whole lot of work to be done with scale equipment.

As much as I am totally not interested in RC things that's just pretty darn cool.

Not hard to do. There are chassis that are leaf sprung and a few different YJ bodies to choose from.

I would love to do one of my J10. But there are not any good 1:10 scale J-Truck bodies. Or FSJ bodies at all for that matter.

Where at? What company makes those?

Well, Tamiya still makes their full RC YJ, but its not a great platform. It has IFS of all things. But the body is very detailed. You can find just bodies for sale on eBay, like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tamiya-Jeep-Wra ... 3a80ca1a66

But brand new bodies go for like 50 bucks. Which is about double what a typical RC body goes for new. I could have sworn there was other bodies, but looks like the Tamiya is it.

But there are people that mod the Tamiya XC's to be pretty nice, even with the IFS:

Oh, and here is the leaf sprung body that the Tamiya body fits on if you want solid axles and leaf springs, although I have not mated them personally. Just what I have seen others do. Not sure if they had to shorten the frame or not.

I had a feeling those thigns would be expensive, but WOW, $500 for just the frame/axles. I bet after adding the motors, batteries, body, remote, and whatever else you would need, you could probably spend over $1000, if not more.
I still want one though...lol

The JK shown above can be bought for $350, which considering what it comes with is a great deal. But they are built at higher volume so they can make the price lower.

For the one I listed above, you can get the 3sp version (motor and trans) for I think $600, so its not that much more than the base one. You can get cheaper plastic setups for a lot less.

HPI makes a TJ (but the way they set the chassis up looks kind of goofy), axial makes the scx10 in the video (very adaptable chassis), and pro-line makes a 2009 2 dr wrangler body.

I've been very tempted to get into RC because of the availability of Wranger models...darned hobby stores...
