Trail ride last Sunday...

Post by HeavyIron »

Went out to Big Bear last Sunday with some of my friends. It was a CJ5 run so I'm posting here, you wouldn't be able to take a full size on these trails. There was also a highly modified CJ3b and a JK with 37's along too.

We did Gold Mountain http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/Gold_Mountain_Trail and started John Bull http://www.dirtopia.com/wiki/John_Bull_Trail but the 3b was a little heavy on the skinny pedal and twisted off his rear drive shaft so we had to cut it short.
I was busy driving so I only got a few pics and got some of my friends pics here also.

37s and loads of suspension make it look easy

I'm going to Johnson Valley at the end of the month with the J2000, I'll try to get some pics of that. Not going to do anything serious, just go camping with a couple of my kids.

Looks like you guys had fun. Thanks for sharing. Sometimes I wish I lived over on the left coast.

I know guys that have run John Bull in a JK Unlimited (116" wheel base). Just requires some big tires and lift.

Great photos. I rarely get down that way, but some great wheeling spots.
