8 days till check in. After working all morning in the garage on the Jeep (liberty) I am looking forward to the cool San Juans!

7 days!!!!!

Got the J10 running good now BUT there's some sort of paperwork issue with DMV. I'll be quite po'd if I can't bring it due to that but either way I'll be there.

Happy Independence day! I just spent most of the day out in the garage working on our Jeep Liberty. One of the valve springs broke. I was lucky, the valve didn't drop into the cyl. I picked up an entire set of springs and I also read on the web that these early 3.7 power turds are now dropping exhaust seats too. So I pulled both heads and took them to my machine shop.

I am pretty close to putting it all back together. But good golly it is hot! 110! I stayed in the garage about as long as I wanted. One more day and I should have it all buttoned up.

Which brings me to the good news. This time next week I will be hanging in Ouray. The highs will be lower than our lows. I am really looking forward to it.

COUNT DOWN: 6 days till arrival. 7 Days till my 'first' trail ride.

4 days until departure and 6 on arrival!

Our plans changed so many times it's hard to keep track anymore. I have 3 nights left at home, road tripping to Joplin Friday, back home Saturday morning and now we're planning to head out Saturday afternoon so down to just 4 days! Thinking we'll check in at KOA on Tuesday. Looking forward to some forest service camping Sunday and Monday night near Leadville.

4 1/2 days till early birds start showing up. Waggy is just about ready

5 Days till departure. Steering shock replaced today. Just need to change the oil and load up.

OMG do I leave and arrive in just 3 more days? Friday, Saturday, Sunday!

Tonight is my last night in my own bed! That's actually kind of sad for me. It's really comfortable! Joplin tomorrow night to drop off our girl and doggies with grandma. 4 hours back home Saturday morning and we're going to load up and head out in the afternoon. Planning to be in the mountains Sunday, camping out at Turquoise Lake near Leadville for two nights and we'll be in Ouray Tuesday. Unless sleeping at 10,000 feet gets to us then we might show up Monday evening. Can't wait!

48 hrs till we are in Pinetop. 72 hrs till we're sitting under the Colorado night sky

40 hours or so till I leave. Have to replace an engine mount, get extra fluids, redo timing table, evict a mouse from the trailer, and clean trailer. And go shopping. So far the shopping list is potatoes and a toothbrush.

About 32 hours till I hit the road. Lots can still go wrong. I will know tomorrow if my jeep will fit on the borrowed trailer. If it doesn't my travel plans change and I drive the Jeep to the Invasion.

I am so looking forward to next week.

Work just gave me a task next week. I was going to drive the suburban. Can't make it. Anyone want a cabin I can call to cancel then you can call right after.

That sucks! You would have loved it.

What dates did you have the cabin?

It's hard to believe I will be in the cool san juans in less than 24 hours!

Well drat. I came down with a nasty virus bug Sunday. Slept away half of yesterday.

Chances are I am not going to make it.
