One of my customers told me about this a couple of years ago, but I just couldnt make it happen. He stopped into the shop a couple of weeks back and said he still had it. It has been sitting for many years, but it drove to the spot its in, and no one has raped it yet. I pick it up Saturday...

Got it home today. Its a 4 speed, '81 model. Looks like the first thing I'll hunt down is a Weber for it. This thing has more smog on it then my 88 did. I do have a 2bbl manifold, but need to really look at it, not just a passing glance.
man I've wanted one of those SO bad for awhile now!!! anybody know the general mpg numbers on one of these? I've been thinking it would be great as a teen to offset the j20's horrible mileage

I have an HEI dizzy to drop into it. It came out of a customers rebuild, so I would like to do a new cap, rotor, and wires for the 4.2 when I drop it in. Does anyone have a list of part #'s handy?

Nothing special. I think they were rated at like 15 city, 20 hwy.

With 998 auto 17 and 20 city/hwy. 4 speed is a bit better. 5 speed up to 24 hwy and with AW4 almost 30 on SOTE.

Chev HEI? Then use wires, cap, etc (plugs will depend on your head) for an '80 Chev van with 250 or 292. Make sure the dist gets 12VDC when running. Ignition resistor wiring drops it down and the coil can't keep up RPMS and the module will eventually burn out from running too hot. Either the Weber or get a Gronk kit with MC2100 carb. That is unless you can dial in a Carter BBD (mine runs fine and even spins the tires with 2.72 gears)
