New guy from KY

I thought I would join the madness. Bought a barn rescue from a fellow car enthusiast friend. Not quite sure what I'm gonna do with it yet.
Starting the tear down, removed seats, carpet. Floors and rockers, lower rear quarters are rusted. Engine turns and all of the power windows work.
Seats, dash are in pretty good condition. This may become a donor, might look for a rig with a clean title as this one has none. I really like this beast.

Congrats! Welcome to the madness! I am from KY also. I'm at the floor pan stage on my 79 Cherokee.

Cherokee's are cool looking vehicles.
I may play around with a floor pan just to re-learn how to weld for future projects, it's been over 35 years since I last welded anything.
Good luck with your Cherokee.

Yep. She rests in the garage after 10 years in a barn.

I think it's worth the $1K investment. I think I got the friend discount.
My friend got it for the motor for his CJ-7 but lost interest.

More pics...headliner and dashboard are in excellent shape. Wood trim (thin) are also in great shape. Clear coat worn off of top half of body (patina?).

I'm in Kentucky also, what part of Kentucky are you in?
That's a nice score, was it advertised on FB?

I'm in Louisville.
I bought it off my friend who had it on his farm.
I've been ogling it for the past few years and he offered it to me.
I couldn't resist the offer.

nice, what's up with the title? You can get a new one. If it was lost no problem, but you may have to pay back taxes if he owes any. If the old one was scrapped you can get a new one also but there is a little more to it.
The title on the J10 we bought for our son was so old it didn't show up on the books and we had to pay 5 years back taxes.

I'm only a couple of hours from you. If I can ever get my welder back running to finish out floor pans, we could organize a ky meet up. Maybe at bowling green or Elizabethtown ?

You are correct, I'm going to try to get a title. I have the forms and a bill of sale. The rig has tags and was stickered in '07.
I believe the title was lost. I just wanted to have a Plan B in case I couldn't get a title.

That's cool, isn't Mammoth Cave down that way?

I'm going to start working on getting the engine running this weekend.
Then try to get it titled too, then rear brakes need done.

We like to go to the local car shows, there's always a Waggy that's entered in them.
Hot Rod Nationals at the Expo Center, the last two years, is a great show.

Yup. Around the bowling green area. I like taking mine to shows, but I never enter it in. I've always said it's good enough to drive to a car show, but I use it to much to enter one. Lol

Truth. I have 2 classics. I hate car shows. Give me a cruise in, and I'm game!
