200K

Been a while since I posted so I thought I’d share. The past weekend I replaced the water pump and fan clutch on my 88 Grand Wagoneer. While in there I corrected all the “fixes” that had been applied by previous owners to the alternator bracketry. It was a total mess including three broken bolts and a crack in the bracket itself that was about to let something fail spectacularly. All buttoned up and running smoothly again. So I drove the beast to work for a week in 90 degree weather and the temp stays at the midpoint even when dragging along in traffic. Overheating fears gone. Yesterday on the ride into work the beast crossed the 200K mark and I was able to grab a snap of the odometer right as she went. Love this beast!

Congrats! It's always good to fix that kind of stuff.

I rolled over 300k on my 88 in Oct 2017. I put 205K on it myself. Granted, just about everything under the skin has been replaced at least once.

That's awesome!

I'm about to pick up an '82 where the speedo is just a tad over that 200K mark. I will race you to 400k! :D

ah, ah, ah, the 74 has 347K, but has been parked for a while, the 2.72 gearing is not fun, while the 85 with the 3.31 is better and is shy of 227K both on original engine and trans... but I suspect that the trans on the 85 may need an overhaul...
