Not sure about soon. All the shops here are behind 4-6 months. I was working with a small shop in another city. He is about 2 months behind at this point. I have to get it tore down so that should be just about right.shortbus4x4 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 11:11 am Good news on the insurance. Looking forward to seeing your rig out on the trails soon.
Thanks. Good luck with the relic. I have a few here myself and another on it's way soon.
Yes the master does need to be changed as well. I ordered one of them too. I do believe there is some issue that raises the pedal up higher from the floor. Not sure if it is the rod to the master or the rod to the pedal that is the issue though. It was a upgrade I had looked at a few years ago, but at that time dual diaphragm boosters were quite expensive. When I get to it I will compare the lengths of the rods.Stuka wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 7:05 am Trying to recall if anybody here has done the dual diaphragm conversion on a 70's FSJ here without changing the master cylinder. The aluminum master cylinder from the 80s is different. So you may find you need a matching master cylinder.
Oh, I do think the rod length is different for the thicker booster.
I know...Right?
I hope so.devildog80 wrote: ↑Sun May 14, 2023 12:43 pm Oh but that is so wrong......perhaps better after rebuild
I have ordered most everything that needs to be replaced. Just got my painless wiring kit last week. Started the tear down process last weekend. I hope to get more done this weekend. Slow going with everything else I have to do.
