It's Hot Here

Post by Gumby »

No idea what the temp is here now but it is over the tripple digits. Took the waggy out for a spin to see it would overheat in this weather, I am pleased to find out that it has not but boy am I  . I guess all I need now is a cooler in the back to keep my drink cold when i drive.

Yeah, the liberty showed 120 outside temp. HOT.

I got up at 5am to hike camelback.
Got home and worked out in the garage for a few hours.

Now I am sitting in AC and surfing the web.

My wife asked me earlier today "Are you really going to Ouray". HECK YES!

We've been in the low to mid 90s for weeks. We had a little rain shower yesterday, it's kind of clouding up around us so hopefully we'll get some more. I replaced the roof top A/C on the Motor home with a window unit after it locked up. Window unit doesn't cool the whole place off without the use of a box fan to push the air on through. Your going to Ouray and I have to go to Midland TX for a wedding! I'd take Ouray!!

I know the feeling. I hope that you get the roof unit fixed. My old camper sometimes never seemed to ever get cool enough. We no longer have it so everytime I tent camp I wish still had the camper.

The compressor still seems to be running, but the fan motor is locked up, it'll have to wait till it is cooler for me to climb up on the roof and look.

Was 102 here today. Should be around 105 on Monday. Not the hottest weather I have ever been in, but warm for the mountains.

We've been in the high 80's to mid 90's with 50-65% humidty; heat index of 107 a coupla days ago. I have been in the South for almost 19 years and the humidity still kicks my backside.

The 6 days I spent working down in Dateland convinced me they didn't know what they were talking about

I spent 8 months on a construction job in FL. most miserable I've ever been when hot, and 32 above zero felt as cold as 32 below in Meeker CO because of the humidity. At least in the desert heat spraying water on yourself brought some relief in FL. all it made you was wet and hot.

Forecast for the weekend was 117 both days here in Vegass. BLAH!

I worked on the jeep for a few hours yesterday, then did the only thing I could think of...bummed around at a friends pool. The ladies were having a 'girls day' so i jsut sat on the opposite of the pool and did what I do.

91 here today... That's what the week is supposed to look like. I saw more topless TJ's than I have ever seen.

On the way to Diamond Lake to look at a parts jeep, my electric fan wasn't working, I was getting a bit stressed- it never red lined, but I pulled over at a shady spot let it cool down and traced a loose wire to the relay. Switched some wiring and secured it and got back on the road.Passed on the jeep, but she ran much cooler all the way back.

We got there a bit early; the property owner had some sweet tasting well water so we cooled down and shot the breeze. My son slept on the way there. I was pretty spent by the time we got back... It was hot for this area.
