After a lot of searching for a centered rear diff. axle to fit my Jeep, without going to a Dana 60, (because I just recently bought 5 new wheels in the 6 lug pattern), I am considering staying with my offset rear Dana 44 and going to a regular u-joint shaft. I have swapped a 5.3/4l60e/NP241c into my Jeep, so the rear shaft now comes out of the center and I am in the process of doing Tad's SOA/shackle flip. I was running with a CV shaft after the drivetrain swap so I would be ready for this lift, but I had pretty bad low speed vibrations. Later I began getting high speed vibrations too. I was actually running front wheel drive for a while, because it was so bad. I was told the problem is the compound angle on the CV. They don't like that. By-the-way, I did shim the rear pinion up to be in alignment with the shaft, so that was not the problem. After some discussions with a couple people here, they say I need to just go to the regular u-joint shaft, because others have run like this with no problems. My concern is that I have also had to shorten my rear shaft after the swap, increasing the angle. After the SOA/shackle flip, I figure I would be running the u-joints at about 16%+-. Has anyone done anything similar to this and been successful, or should I keep pursuing a centered diff. axle?

I would do like Jaime.
Different axle and I ran 1410 joints in back but after shoving the drivetrain back 3" with the Caddy swap it was obvious I needed to switch to a rear CV shaft.
Since you have the SYE already you are looking for a 1350 flange that matches the 241 spline count, CV at the tcase.
I kept the long travel yoke at the diff but its probably not needed, it really does not move that far out back, up front it does need one for me.
