It was a big final push to get a few loose ends tied up before our big annual Easter Car Show. Got the door panes installed, and the rear cargo area side panels covered and installed. We even had a late night waxing party the night before the show. The paint was finally fully cured and ready for polish/wax. It turned out great. We were even able to win a few trophies at the car show. Second place isn't too bad for a Jeep that's not totally finished. I still need to loom wires under the hood and finish painting some in the engine bay, but it is mostly put together.

I'm looking at doing keyless entry/start. My Wagoneer is old enough that it didn't originally have keyless entry, but it does have power locks. Does anyone know of a kit that works well for this? Also has anyone set up the rear window roll down on a keyless entry keyfob? That would be nice to roll down the rear window while walking up to the car with your groceries.

I think member Serehill may make a kit for key fob rear window. I haven't looked too far into conveniences on mine yet but I know he makes wiring kits and I think one was for a push-button back window. PM him or search his posts. Let us know what you end up with!

I had a shop quote me $1000 to do my GW front seats. That is complete tear down, rebuild with new padding and new imitation leather which he says is better/lasts longer than real leather. I dont know how true that is, I always thought real leather was more comfy and durable?

I went with what's called "recycled leather" which is ground up leather bonded together with a imitation leather overlay. It is much thicker than a standard vinyl material but feels very nice. It is also more expensive than imitation leather. I had my front and back seats done, 4 door panels and dash. All for less than $2000. so $1k for just the fronts seems a little steep.

The customer that I sold this Wagoneer to has recently decided to move to Mexico and has asked me to sell this Jeep for him. He shipped it to me and is at my house in Southern Utah. If there is any interest let me know. It is a 4 year old restoration at this point and has a few issues, but you can't beat the price. I am selling this LS swapped Wagoneer with keyless start for $13,900. Please contact me for more details.

List of "Issues"
Bubble in paint above passenger rear wheel well.
Front door panel backer board warped and are now ugly. Upholstery still looks great.
Front drivers seat has some wear on the bolster. The Jeep comes with all left over material from the initial restoration and has plenty to fix this issue.
The new SMS headliner also warped and looks like junk. The cabin is pretty water tight, no roof leakage but the owner does live in Seattle and it's been parked outside for 4 years in the rain.
The fuel gauge sender needs to be replaced. I tested the circuit and the gauge still works, so it is for sure the in tank sending unit that needs to be replaced.
When I initially built and sold this it sold for more than $20k. This is a great deal!

So a slight turn of events lead to probably my favorite re rebuild ever.
So if you remember from earlier this previous restoration 1982 Wagoneer Limited showed back up on my doorstep because the buyer was moving to Mexico and didnt want to take this with him from fear that he'd destroy it. So I took it back and started to fix a few things here and there while trying to sell it. I immediately got an offer but the new owner wanted a few things fixed. For example, wood paneling was a must! Also the headliner needed to be replaced and a few mechanical issues fixed. Here are some pictures of the finished product. It is now in its new home in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Let me know what you think of my headliner choice. :)ImageImageImage

There was also some paint and rust repair that needed to be done before wood paneling. But it wasnt so bad.Image

I like the darker color of that wood grain. Love the head liner.

I dig the headliner too but I especially like the steering wheel treatment.

The steering wheel cover was a $25 oreily special. :) we all know how sticky those old wheels get, and this one just so happened to really match the dash and seat/panel insert color nicely.Image

I could no longer find the medium oak paneling. So i went with marine teak. I was freaking out once i saw the wood paneling on against the brown with no trim. The colors were very similar. But once the trim was on and breaking up the color scheme it looked great!

I dunno about the headliner. I just watched Spaceballs and it reminds me of a scene from it.
