Finally! I finally have a rear bumper (type2) and I'm super excited about this BUT now I have to source end caps for it. Are there any reproduction sources out there or alternatives that fit and don't look too out of place?

I saw that one, been on the fence about clicking the buy button since their parts dept is closed today and my local jeep dealer told me they are nationally discontinued. Wouldn't mind finding a chrome alternative if something out there would fit and not look out of place. I am calling them monday though. If they have them still I am buying them, providing I don't get impatient and do it online prior to monday
I hate to be that guy... there is no way those pieces are still around. If they are truly available, I would offer to buy out the stock they have. I have visited that site looking for sport side parts in the past. I placed an order for a filler neck cover, they cancelled it stating "out of stock." Please, prove me wrong and our community will benefit.

I do things my way, and I pay a high price.... JCM
No good. Website is wrong the guy on the phone said and none are shown anywhere nationally.
So...the million dollar question, has anyone found suitable alternatives for these caps?
I 3d printed a couple sets of type II 4 3/4" tall bumper end caps that I modeled based off my set of originals that I bought 20 some years ago.
They bolt on and fit like the originals.
Looks good! I was told that these end caps are unobtainanium and some people would like to buy printed ones, but I couldn’t model one without having dimensions or original part to measure.
What plastic did you use for them? ABS should hold up well and can be easily sanded (or filled and painted) to hide layer lines

PETG is a good choice! I almost stopped using ABS in favor of it, too finicky to use without enclosed printer and as you’ve said it gives off fumes. Only benefits of ABS are lower price, ease of post processing and being able to glue it with acetone.
Sorry to hear about your job, I hope folks here would be interested in buying your caps. Good luck!

I forgot to mention PETG can be painted with the use of adhesion promoter primer after sanding. ABS would look too glossy vapor polished but it would erase the layer lines but that's risky also.

It was used like a truck for its first ten years of existence...it now lives a sheltered life.
You can buy a set of cast Aluminum end caps from Kim Dawson over on the CJ8.com site. Nice quality parts. The original end caps had different cutouts to fit either a CJ or J truck by reversing them side to side. You can see the difference in bumpers in my album. By the way Kim also does really nice restorations on the CJ grab handles and leather wrapped steering wheels. https://photos.app.goo.gl/G2Twj8mwzPVbgzvw5
Are you making and selling any of the bumper caps? Do you have a price and delivery time?
Probably going to be needing a pair this winter when I start body work on the truck.
Thanks.
