On my '89 there aren't any brackets in the way plus the belts are tensioned by the alt.

In answer to my own question...

I expect the factory "no AC" is different from the with-AC and AC removed. Not the same. IMO you should measure.

You can bet the price of the belts if you want. The alternator brackets are different W/AC and WO/AC. Costs you nothing to measure.
