Having an issue with the stock radio not picking up stations in an 89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It will only pick up one am station and will not pick up any fm. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I’m not radio expert, but it sound like either antenna is bad (disconnected or broken cable), or fm part of radio itself is faulty
Me either haha I checked the antenna and it seems to be fine so I’m leaning towards a bad stereo. Just ordered a cheap one on amazon to test that theory.
AM carrier frequency is very low and travels everywhere.
Making it easier to pick up.
It seems to point to a antenna issue. You checked the antenna plug at the back side of the radio?
But like you think, probably the tuner section of the radio.
I have heard of people running steel wool up and down the antenna to clean the smutz off
Good luck keep us informed

Pretty sure the tuner on my stock radio in the 84 j10 is shot. It won't move the dial. I have a gadget from Goodwill that goes into the cassette slot and provides and audio pickup from a cell phone or CD player so I know that the speakers and volume control works after a fashion.
