Front part cherokee

Post by Longjohn61 »

Hello i am looking for a better front for my cherokee chief.
Not easy to find here in sweden mine is holding together with bondo something the p.o loved and fixed a lot of things on my jeep with.
I found one in the Netherlands where a friend of my lives but i comes from a 72 wagoneer will that one fit on my 79 cherokee?
I know the hoods where different on the earlier fsj.

This is mine before dismantling.

This started with "i just need to change my clutch" but it become a much larger project :)

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, I bought one from them, had some surface rust and a few spots were ported but it fit good and was better than what I had.

Exactly what i am looking for the only difference is that is complete with the support part for the radiator but that is not a problem.
Thanks

The complete part with radiator support is called the "core support." I would expect any from a V8 Wagoneer would be close enough you could make it work. Things will change like the little brackets that hold the grille and such, but the overall shape and dimensions will be the same. Note the 6-cylinder Wagoneers have a different core support. The front part shown by TGW will be the same, but the radiator opening for a six will be different (narrower) and the battery box placement is different.

This item is actually just the header panel/grill support, does not include the radiator support.

I can use the core support part its the grill support part that is completely gone. so i will buy a complete one and just use the grill part.
Was not sure if the grill part from a 72 would fit but now i know.
Thanks
just a step closer putting my jeep together again.
