1970 Wagoneer Heater Switch Vacuum Leak

Hello all,

I'm in the process of returning my 1970's heat back to factory (previous owners wired straight to the blower motor, bypassing the switch). I've gotten power back to the switch, but I have a big vacuum leak coming internally from the switch itself. It's leaking between the two circular plates above where the vacuum lines enter the switch assembly (see in the pictures below). I separated the two circular plates and did not see anywhere that an o-ring would exist or be able to even fit. I can't silicone the two pieces because the top one needs to spin. Any idea what exactly the solution for a vacuum leak is here?

Thanks in advance!

I recall someone showed a repair where they lapped the surface of both plates and put a bit of grease between them. No gasket? Or there was a flat gasket? I searched on IFSJA, but did not find that thread. Maybe you can search and find it here or there.

The parts book shows it as an assembly, but as you see you can take it apart and spiff it up.

This is the best thread I've found for this: https://www.fsjnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10471

i am restoring an 83 cherokee and rebuilt my heater control, it works like butter now. its very simple (after) you remove it lubricated the push button actuators with a light oil and reoiled the Felt lubricator pads and lapped the mating surfaces of the valves ,there is no gasket and a light grease was used and it now works like new
