tick tick noise

Post by DatsunTim »

I am hearing a very faint tick tick noise when moving slow (no wind noise to drown it out). It sounds like a faint version of the hub lock tick you get then the hubs are only partially locked.

Can this noise be coming from the knuckle after I made a paste of gear oil and bearing grease to stop the knuckle seal leak?

Its a D44 axle on my 71 J4600.

Thanks

Check your wheel weights. I have had them hit the TRE before if they stick out a little too far.
