Steering stabilizer with SOA and high steer.

Post by Dwroach »

Hello folks,

Been digging around on the forums and cannot find a clear answer on steering stabilzer compatible with SOA lift, high steer and dana 44

First, the grand wagoneer drives well with not having a steering damper, even with 37 inch MT tires. No death wobble for example. I'm hope to achieve a little cushion from bumps and ruts in the road to lessen driver fatigue. I know, driveablity concerns with 37s 🤪.

Can anyone suggest a quality single shock steering stabilizer kit that installs around the dana 44 and high center link bar (over leafs).

Cheers

Youll likely have to Fab a rigid mount for your setup. The normal tie-bar bracket will be the same.

For the tie rod side you can us a u-bolt mount if you dont have the means to weld on a mount. But for the axle side, I don't think a universal mount will work because of the elevation difference. You would need to fab up a mount.

In which case, it may be worth having it done to support hydro-assist steering in the future.

Thx for the comments. Thats what I expected.

I wanted to avoid fabing up brackets in case I found the steering damper made little to no difference and would remove it. Maybe someone had a cleaver bolt on solutuon.

I've heard good things about hydro assist. 🤔

Thats an SUA (spring under axle) setup with a stock steering stabilizer. With an SOA, the springs sit on top of the axle, and the tie rod gets moved up with high steer.
